CBT on a Scooter 125cc or 50cc

CBT 125 scooterNot sure if you want to take your Scooter CBT on a 125cc or a 50cc? Well, it may be that you don’t have a choice. If you are under 17 then you will be restricted to a 50cc machine (that is not all bad though as they are even cheaper to run).

I would always take the view that it is best to take your CBT on a scooter that is as near to the size of the scooter you plan to buy as possible. This will give you that little bit of extra experience with the power you are likely to have.

You may also be restricted by the scooters that the CBT test center has available for you to use, so it is always worth ringing around and checking if you can reserve a particular scooter for your CBT day.

Something else you may not know is that is you got a full car driving licence before 1st Feb 2001 then you don’t need to take your CBT to ride a moped. Though to be honest, it is well worth taking the day out to do it. You will learn a lot which you probably won’t have thought of. At the very least, do it for your own safety.
